ABOUT DALTON

Dalton and his wife Anna live in Tauranga New Zealand and serve on the leadership team at THOP (Tauranga House of Prayer Missions Base) in Tauranga New Zealand. Dalton is originally from Venice Florida and his wife from Columbus Georgia. Having both served as missionaries in South America, the South Pacific and South East Asia before moving to Tauranga the Lifsey’s carry a burden for the nurturing and maturing of  the prayer and missions movement; a movement whose gaze is fixed upon the beauty of Jesus and the reality of His soon return. They have been in Tauranga on the pioneering team since the beginning and are responsible for various elements of the day to day running of the House of Prayer.

Dalton and Anna

The Tauranga House of Prayer is a missions base that is committed to (1) Day and Night Prayer, (2) Missions Equipping and (3) Theological Education. In the environment of day and night worship and prayer messengers are being forged and a new paradigm of leadership is emerging.

Prior to the earthly ministry of Jesus a woman named Anna “served God” in the temple in “fasting prayer” for over 60 years. Meanwhile, John the Baptist was “burning and shining” in the wilderness “preparing the way of the Lord” through 30 years of fasting and prayer. These two individuals prepared Israel for the coming of the Lord; and fasting, prayer and prophetic proclamation is how they did it. And as it was in the days of Anna and John so it will be at the end of the age.

In this unique hour of history God is calling a generation of young adults to the temple and to the wilderness to fast, to pray and to proclaim. Not the physical wilderness of Jordan but the suburban wilderness of the cities of the earth. And not the temple in Jerusalem but to Houses of Prayer where extravagant devotion to Jesus is charged with fasting and the honoring of the Word of God.

As the temple was indispensable to the ministry of Anna and as the wilderness was indispensable to the ministry of John the Baptist in their generation, we believe that day and night prayer is indispensable to the forging and commissioning of messengers and voices in our generation. And in the grace of God we are committed to providing the leadership, the environment and the message to facilitate this.
